WHAT'S IN A NAME?

Peanut's Place was named in honor of a small gold and white kitten who was rescued along with his two brothers from a "cat extermination"  project on a nearby farm. The clan of cats who lived there were being trapped in "Live traps" and then drowned (alive) in stock tanks.

Before all had been killed, I asked if I could trap the three kittens that were left, one of which was "Peanut." The two remaining "pet" momma cats were left alone, unspayed, to continue producing kittens who would eventually meet the same fate as their siblings before them.

When Peanut and his brothers were old enough to be neutered, they were taken in to the Vet Clinic. It was December 13th.

Peanut did not survive the surgery. For him, and so many other kittens and cats like him, Peanut's Place was born.

OUR MISSION

FOREVER HOME......

Peanut's Place was established on December 12th, 2003 in an effort to fill a desperate need for options for the area's stray, feral, and homeless cats. With a place to finally call "Home," every cat or kitten who enters here is spayed or neutered, individual health care needs ARE addressed and EACH is given lifetime sanctuary unless it is determined that permanent adoption is possible.

PEANUT"S PLACE is located on 3.68 acres at a private residence in Southwestern Minnesota. At the present time, we are home to 84 cats and kittens.

Peanut's Place is a private endeavor and we rely heavily on private donations to sustain the services provided to those who call us home.

Peanut's Place is lovingly served full-time by a single individual with support from  family members and a few cherished friends & volunteers.

If you are interested in donating or sponsoring a permanent sanctuary resident or would like to visit, please give us a call, send us an email or find us on Facebook at facebook.com/peanutsplacecatrescue.
